1. Characterics on Usage:

  • GL-52 is a low hydrogen type covered electrode with excellent usability in all position welding.
  • GL-52 is suitable for medium tensile strength carbon and alloyed steel in ships, bridges, building, and pressure vessels.
  • It's easy-slag-removable, few blowhole, smoke and spatter. Its weld bead is smooth, shinny; the arc is soft, the re-striking is good and the penetration is shallow...especially having perfect result with AC current.

6. Usage introduction: 

  • Dry the electrodes at 300-350oC for 30-60 minutes before use.
  • Adopt the backstep method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this particular purpose to prevent blowhole at the arc starting. 
  • Keep the arc as short as possible
